Thanks to Snitch Seeker, FeltBeats and MSN Gr, a bucketload of pictures from Tom and Evanna’s appearance at the Greek premiere have been added to our galleries. Needless to say, loads of Evanna looking very pretty in yellow – and not to mention heaps of Tom!
Also, an interview with Evanna and Tom has popped up from their Greek press tour! A rough translation can be read below:
How do you feel the «crazy» your role?
Frankly I do not think that Luna is so «crazy» as it may seem. Just not willing to change itself. It’s just the way I grew up and is happy with it, and some other people would find a little uncomfortable to be so different from others. I think the «crazy» is to want to change yourself and do not feel comfortable with what you are.If someone takes a quick look at your CV understand that you only play roles for «Harry Potter». How does your future business?
Yes, I have only played in the Harry Potter movies because I liked his books and always wanted to be an actress. I went to acting classes, but I would have gone to the audition if I did not like the story of the books. Therefore I believe that Harry Potter is a dream became reality for me but I have also opened many doors. Working together with agenda and understand that our reputation has grown. Most actors have to work very hard to reach this point and I feel very lucky to be able to make that leap and reach where I am now. Going to school and playing and «Harry Potter» my time was too limited to something special. But just graduated and finished and the Harry Potter movies I hope to get suggestions and of course myself sometime actress.Do you think your characters in the film could be different than the books?
I think this is a matter of the screenplay but I personally love to go with the book. Even when I audition, cheat very faithful to the book. And any time I felt that I could not pay something right in the film, the director quit. Many say they see the real Luna through your eyes. What elements of the Luna you like?
Yes I know that many say they look like and take it as a compliment because I respect the «Luna» too. He has inspired and has a great philosophy in which remains calm and unaffected, which is trying to adopt too. I never worried and never angry because I think he believes in fate and that everything will happen as it is meant. I also like that are very perceptive and know that people say that it is «in its own world» but not disappointed at all.
A little bit later … A couple more interviews from their press tour have popped up! One with Kathimerini and another with Ethnos, two Greek news sites. The first interview is quite brief and Evanna talks Potter, the likeability of the series and being a normal fan.

On the corner, there was excitement, shouting and even some fainting as more than 3,000 people greeted the two ‘Harry Potter’ cast members on Tuesday night. Evanna Lynch and Tom Felton, who play Luna Lovegood and Draco Malfoy, were here in Athens to promote their film ‘Half Blood Prince’ at the premiere in the Village Mall and received an enthusiastic public reaction.
Children at around 15, but some even older than 50, waited patiently to get to close to meet the actors, but also to be photographed with them and to get autographs. Yesterday, the young actors talked about the extremely warm welcome they received and talking about their experiences in participating in the most successful film franchise.
Unlike Tom Felton, who had not read any Harry Potter books when he got the role, the 18-year-old Evanna Lynch (who plays Luna Lovegood) was a massive fan of the books and of J. K. Rowling. Her dedication to the series was a key factor in her audition. ‘Half Blood Prince’ is the second film in which she acts in and is only now starting to adjust. “In the previous film, I felt very strange because I felt that I did not belong there. I saw everyone else as a star. I was so loyal to the fans who could not participate in these films.”
What makes Harry Potter so popular, according to Lynch, is that “Harry has a sense of justice and wants to change things – he also has the power to try. It is because the main protagonists has a good heart. It’s something I found, and people who read the books found, to be really inspirational.”
Lynch confesses that her role model is Audrey Tatou, for both her interpretations and the way she keeps her private life away from the public. Being a part of the Harry Potter case, however, has it’s difficulties. “I live in Ireland and during the filming, I must constantly travel between London and home. I have two lives. I would like to have a home and live there permanently.” source
Plus another interview! The second interview is slightly longer than the first and can be found here at Ethnos. Evanna talks about auditioning, being a fan (… once again!) and the magical world of Harry Potter.
The eccentric Luna Lovegood, the token funny character and loyal friend of Harry Potter, is played by one other than the Irish actress, Evanna Lynch. The 18-year-old girl, who in 2006 entered the world of cinema for the first time, snapped up the role of Luna Lovegood out of hundreds of candidates. The “magic”, she said a day after the premiere of ‘Half Blood Prince’ in Greece, “is the most beautiful getaway.”
Are there similarities between your character and your own personality?
Yes there are … Luna has the ability to remain calm and to not lose self control and to not ever be cruel, even when she is understood and perceived by others to be eccentric and weird. You were a great admirer of the Harry Potter series before you won the role?
I lvoe the books and the film series. Before I used to talk about the series and the actors all the time, I used to think I was a part of it. Now the dream has come true.Would you like to continue to be an actress?
I would love to continue it! I live in a small Irish town where nothing happenes. Harry Potter was the best thing that ever happened to me.What makes it so special?
It is the magic and the playful imagination. You can escape from your life, which is boring and sometimes embarrassing, into a new world. What reputation have you gotten from acting in the films?
I would say it is good publicity, but often exaggerated. Sometimes I go home and tell my mother that it is more than I can do and the feeling that this all could be a dream? On the other hand, what the films demonstrate is the enormous power and fanbase of Harry Potter. What happens is that fans do not expect to be a film star, but I believe that you are and become the character you play. I feel safe in that opinion. I am comfortable with the Luna I have created and I am pleased that I am so much like her character. source
